loveHIVE turns to face the sun automatically, capturing and storing solar gain to maintain optimal, user defined temperature and humidity. An automatic rake cleans away flies, once they have laid their eggs. A self sealing access hatch allows simple retrieval of eggs and placement of pupae without flies escaping.

growHIVE captures and harnesses the metabolic energy of the BSF larvae inside a passive super-insulated unit to maintain optimal, user-defined, temperature, humidity and airflow, inside or out. Minimising odours and maximising efficiency, self harvesting and assisted early harvesting are both supported.
HIVE is powered by the Black Soldier Fly Larvae themselves, delivering unparalleled performance and ease of use. Combining bio-optimization, energy recycling, natural phase change materials and intelligent routing, HIVE automatically maintains an optimal rearing environment when placed outdoors, even when the external temperature reaches zero. The accompanying app tracks progress and alerts users if attention is needed.

Why should we change what we eat?

80% of global farming land is currently used for grazing or to grow feed for livestock - that provide only 18% of our calories.
Intensive livestock farms produce more greenhouse gas emissions than transport, and heavily pollute both land and water.
But sustainable proteins use just 1/8th of the feed, release 1/25th of the emissions, use 1/50th of the water and 1/100th of the land.
Good for animals
60% of all mammals on Earth are now farmed livestock domesticated from < 20 wild species. A majority live in misery.
Tens of billions of sentient beings, with complex sensations and emotions, live and die in tiny cages and cruel production lines.
But there are now serious and sustainable alternatives for feeding our growing planet, which require no cruelty or sacrifice.
